Shoulder Pain Treatment

Shoulder pain is a common condition that can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor posture, injury, or degenerative changes.

Sometimes other symptoms come with shoulder issues, such as:

  • Pins and needles in arm / fingers

  • Nerve / sharp pain

  • Poor circulation in arm / hand

  • Reduced range of movement

The treatment for shoulder pain depends on the underlying cause, severity, and duration of the pain. Here are some common shoulder pain treatments:

  1. Rest: Resting for a short period (a day or two) can help relieve mild shoulder pain. Avoid carrying heavy objects can help too.

  2. Exercise: Targeted exercise programs can help improve shoulder flexibility, strength, and range of motion. Gentle stretches and range of motion exercises are often recommended.

  3. Pain medication: Over-the-counter pain relievers can sometimes help, but not always.

  4. Physical Therapy: Physical intervention and exercises are both very effective in improving the shoulder.

At Hesteyri Pain Solutions, we strive to find out the cause of your shoulder pain in the first place. This could be an old injury, sprain, or nerve impingement.

Once the cause is established, we then tailor a specific treatment plan for you to start alleviating your symptoms, and improving movement.

If unsure, please feel free to book in a free 30 minutes assessment session with us to discuss how we may help.
